Projects Participation

Whenever useful to its members, AENEAS directly participates in projects, mostly in coordination and supporting actions, or in similar types of EU Projects.

European Chips Skills Academy Project

As part of an 18-partner consortium of the European Chips Skills Academy (ECSA), AENEAS is proud to contribute to bridging education and the microelectronics industry in Europe.

The European Chips Skills Academy is a newly EU-funded project to meet the growing demands for skills in the evolving microelectronics labour market. Building on the success of the METIS4Skills project, ECSA will offer a comprehensive e-Learning Platform with over 80 courses in microelectronics. These courses are designed to meet the evolving needs of our industry and prepare a new generation of skilled professionals.

The ECSA project, set to run until September 2027, promises a journey filled with exciting developments and innovative breakthroughs. We invite the ECS community to stay engaged with the project consortium’s progress and engaging activities. As a contributor to the European Chips Skills Academy, AENEAS is excited to lead the co-organisation of the ECS Summer School, “Fascinating Electronics for a Cool World.” This initiative plays a vital role in fostering the development of skills within the European semiconductor industry by offering participants hands-on experience, cutting-edge knowledge, and exposure to the latest trends in microelectronics. The ECS Summer School is designed to inspire and equip the next generation of professionals with the expertise needed to drive innovation and maintain Europe’s competitive edge in the global semiconductor market.

International Cooperation On Semiconductors Project

International Cooperation On Semiconductors (ICOS), a three-year Coordination and Support Action (CSA) from the European Commission in the frame of Horizon Europe, was launched on 19 January 2023. As a part of 19-partners consortia, AENEAS shares the ambitious aim of the project to support the growth of the European Semiconductor and Semiconductor-based photonics industry through focused international research cooperation.

The latest ICOS General Assembly took place at the AENEAS premises in Paris, bringing together key stakeholders to review the progress after the project’s second year. This hybrid event was an opportunity to present results to the Industrial and Advisory Boards, gather their feedback, and foster discussions on next steps. The meeting kicked off with a welcome word from Caroline Bedran, AENEAS Director General, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation and collaboration within the consortium. With valuable contributions from work package leaders and expert discussions on future directions, the ICOS project continues to drive impactful progress.

Stay tuned for more updates as the project advances!

aCCCess Project

Launched in March 2025, this four-years EU-funded initiative will foster collaboration between Competence Centres (CCCs), Chips Pilot Lines (PLs), and the virtual Design Platform (DP), all key pillars of the EU Chips Act supported by Chips JU.

Led by a consortium of experienced cluster organisations and technology partners, aCCCess aims to accelerate innovation, ease access to advanced technologies and funding for businesses, especially SMEs and start-ups, and reinforce Europe’s position in the global semiconductor landscape.

Each initiative plays a distinct role: CCCs drive innovation and expertise; PLs support the transition from research to production; and the DP offers cloud-based design tools to enable chip development across Europe.

AENEAS is proud to be an Associated Partner of this strategic project!
